Thurnbichler worrying about Kamil Stoch. “Has problems”

In early January, it seemed that the three-time Olympic champion was back in great shape. In the Four Hills Tournament he took 5th place. He revealed then that he underwent a transformation that would allow him to achieve better results. “I had a bit of a bad attitude because I started focusing on something I wasn’t able to achieve at the time. And I should focus on the path to these achievements and the tasks I need to complete to get to this place. I tried to reevaluate my approach. I try to enjoy the little things, every jump, the fact that I’m here and I’m jumping at a high level in top-level competitions – .

However, on the Kulm hill, Stoch was again attacked by demons. Not only the wind (the weakest in the whole series) stood in his way, but also his worse disposition. Thomas Thurbichler told a little more about Stoch’s problems.

– Kamil has problems, he struggles with himself. He has to put in more effort and fight for better jumps on Sunday. (…) After the first jump, he only told me that the harder he tries, the worse he does. He needs a clear, easy strategy for tomorrow, and he needs to stick to it.

The Austrian, however, believes that the 35-year-old will manage to find a golden mean and will perform much better in Sunday’s competition, as he told . – Every day we improve some things with Kamil, who has to implement them. I am sure that with this second jump in the competition he took a step forward. Certainly, however, this is not what we all expect and what Kamil Stoch can do – assessed the Austrian.
