On matchday 19 of Serie A, Inter Milan suffered a surprising 0-1 home defeat to Empoli. Simone Inzaghi’s players wanted to make up for the loss in the next match. The opportunity for this was very good. Their rival was the newcomers of the Italian league and the last club in the table – Cremonese. Contrary to expectations, Saturday’s clash was not an easy walk for the Milanese. There was a sensation at the beginning of the meeting.
David Okereke delighted the commentators. “Goool”
The game was full of emotions from the first minutes. Inter pressed on and created some dangerous chances in the Cremonese penalty area. However, for a moment, Inzaghi’s players lost their vigilance, which David Okereke ruthlessly took advantage of. The Nigerian in the 11th minute of the game scored a goal of exceptional beauty.
The newcomers resumed the game from the throw-in. After two passes, the ball found its way to Okereke’s feet. In this situation, a mistake was made by the defenders of Inter, who were too far from the rival. The Cremonese striker took advantage of this very quickly and shot from the edge of the penalty area into the upper right corner of the goal. Andre Onana made a defensive effort but was unable to catch the ball. This one landed in the window.
“Oh goool”, “What the hell just happened here?!!” – journalists from Eleven Sports, who commented on this meeting, were emotional. There was an uproar in the stands as well. With this goal, Okereke put Cremonese into the lead. What’s more, Inter maintained the disgraceful streak – it was the 14th match in a row in which the Milanese conceded an away goal.
Davide Ballardini’s players did not enjoy the lead for long. Inter quickly got to work and in the 21st minute led to a draw. Edin Dzeko fired from the air after a corner kick. Marco Carnesecchi managed to deflect the ball, but it did not end the action. Lautaro Martinez immediately got to the ball and leveled the competition.
However, in the 65th minute, the Argentine completed the formalities and scored the second goal, putting Inter ahead. The club did not squander the advance of one goal and the match ended with a 2-1 victory for the Milanese. However, more than the result of the meeting, there is talk about Okereke’s spectacular goal. It was the Nigerian’s seventh goal of the season.
