The Russian got citizenship and thanks the Poles. “Tears in the Eyes”

After the invasion of Ukraine, the Polish Automobile Association expelled Russian players from the Polish league. From the new year, it was decided that the performance of Russians with Polish passports, riding on a Polish license, will be allowed in PGE Ekstraliga. Artiom Laguta and Emil Sajfutdinov, who have Polish citizenship, have already benefited from this. Now Vadim Tarasenko has joined this group.

Tarasienko obtained Polish citizenship, he will compete in the colors of ZOOleszcz GKM Grudziądz

Tarasenko has been applying for Polish citizenship for a long time. The Russian has been living in Poland for years and started a family here. Now he will be able to start in the Polish league in the colors of ZOOleszcz GKM Grudziądz, which was announced at the press conference by the president of GKM, Marcin Murawski. – After a lot of struggle and efforts of many people, Vadim Tarasienko, with whom we have already become involved before the 2022 season, before the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, received Polish citizenship and will become a player of ZOOLESZCZ GKM Grudziądz – he said.

The player himself did not hide the great joy of being able to return to the track. He addressed special words to the people who helped him obtain citizenship. – I would like to thank once again Mr. Zbyszek Leszczyński and the people involved in the process of obtaining Polish citizenship, as well as the entire management board of GKM and employees for being there for me and not leaving me in difficult times. I am very grateful to you and will give my best in the following season. You saved me and I will never forget that! – said Tarasenko.

– These people made me feel calmer not only about myself, but also about my family. I’m almost in tears talking about it now. I will try to fully repay the club and the entire board.”

In his efforts to obtain Polish citizenship, the Russian could count on the help of Minister Krzysztof Szczucki and Zbigniew Leszczyński from the company ZOOleszcz, the sponsor of the club from Grudziądz.

The competitor, despite the inability to start, continued to participate in training. Now he has announced that he will try not to disappoint the club’s trust. – I couldn’t compete from the tape, but I was in contact with the bike all the time. Now I am preparing for the season just like the previous one, I know what I need to be at my best. I started preparations in the dark, when there was still no decision on citizenship. I will be 100 percent ready,” Tarsienko said.
