With the good result, Lorient reached 35 points and approached Rennes, which occupies fifth place. The defeated lost the opportunity to overtake Monaco and enter the classification zone for the Conference League.

The first goal of the match came after 13 minutes of the ball rolling. After a corner from the right, Montassar Talbi appeared between the defenders and headed in to open the scoring. In the 30th minute, a counter-attack ended at the foot of Théo Le Bris, who invaded the area and hit the left corner hard.
In the second half, Reins pulled back through Flavien Tait. The midfielder took advantage of a low cross to infiltrate between the defenders and hit the back of the net with a cart.
