¯y³a wins training on Kulm. Kubacki’s disaster before qualifying

The first ski flying weekend of the season started in Bad Mitterndorf, Austria. Competitors from Friday to Sunday compete on the Kulm hill. The second training is behind us, in which Piotr Żyła turned out to be the best. We saw only five representatives of Poland on the mammoth facility.

Piotr Żyła wins the second training on Kulm. Dawid Kubacki beyond 50

62 players joined the training. The winner of the first training of Stefan Kraft was missing. The jumpers were accompanied by a favorable, light wind for skiing, rarely exceeding a meter per second. In such conditions, it was not difficult to make many flights above 200 m. Piotr Żyła performed best in these, who flew to 233 m. Right behind him was Halvor Egner Granerud, and the top three was completed by Andreas Wellinger.

This time, Dawid Kubacki was completely lost. The leader of the World Cup jumped very briefly – only 123.5, which translated into the 51st place. Kamil Stoch showed much better, although he did not reach the limit of 200 m. He took the 15th place. 6 places behind him was Aleksander Zniszczoł with a jump of 206.5 m. Jakub Wolny, returning to the Polish team after a long absence, did quite poorly. He got only 174.5 m. Fortunately, it looked much better a little earlier. In the first training he flew up to 225 m.
