Vyalbe called the FIS decision not to allow Russian skiers to the World Cup expected
The President of the Russian Ski Racing Federation (FLPR), Elena Vyalbe, reacted to the decision of the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) to prevent the Russians from participating in the 2023 World Championships. Her words leads “Championship”.
Vyalbe called the suspension expected, despite the performance of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). “We already knew this. I will now see how all international federations will run to open the gates for Russians and Belarusians, ”she added.
Earlier on January 27, FIS Secretary General Michel Vion said that Russian skiers have no chance to take part in the World Championships. The tournament will be held from February 22 to March 5 in Planica, Slovenia.
On January 25, the IOC announced that it was considering the possibility of individual admission to competitions for Russian and Belarusian athletes. It is clarified that only athletes who did not support the conduct of a special military operation in Ukraine and did not violate anti-doping rules will be able to get permission to compete in international tournaments.
