The head coach of the Russian national football team Valery Karpin explained why Spartak defender Georgy Dzhikia and Lokomotiv midfielder Rifat Zhemaletdinov were absent from training. TASS reports.
According to the specialist, both players were injured. The coach did not disclose the details of the injuries, but added that the players did not take part in the lesson, as it was decided not to risk their health.
The training session of the Russian national team, which was not attended by the players, was held on Tuesday, November 9, in St. Petersburg. There the team will meet with Cyprus on November 11. Three days later, Karpin’s charges will play on the road with Croatia. Both meetings will be held as part of the qualification for the 2022 World Cup.
On November 8, it became known that the Russian national team in the next matches will not be able to help Dynamo midfielder Arsen Zakharyan and Rubin defender Ilya Samoshnikov. Both players were injured.
