Former representative about Piszczek as an assistant. “The name alone will not change the image”

On Tuesday we met the successor of Czesław Michniewicz, who was Fernando Santos. The new coach of the Polish national team is currently in the process of building his staff, which will definitely include a Pole. The Portuguese admitted that he had already talked to candidates for the position of assistants and got acquainted with their concept for the functioning of the staff.

Krzynówek rated Piszczek as an assistant

– It is important to have a co-worker who is Polish. He knows the mentality and personality better. Yesterday I had the opportunity to talk to these gentlemen (Piszczek and Kaczmarek – ed.). I understood their ideas, I had the opportunity to get acquainted with their idea for the national team. And in fifteen days, I’ll give my opinion to the president. There will definitely be a Polish element in my team. So that we can start working as soon as possible. There is a group of people with whom it is very easy to work. We are willing to cooperate – said Fernando Santos.

It can be assumed that PZPN will soon announce an official announcement regarding the appointment of new Polish assistants to coach Santos. In an interview with “TVP Sport”, Jacek Krzynówek said that this idea should be approached coolly. The 96-time representative of Poland emphasized that Łukasz Piszczek is just starting his coaching adventure and it is not known how he will perform in such a role.

– Łukasz is an outstanding football player, but let’s not forget that he is only at the beginning of his coaching career. Łukasz’s name alone in the staff will not change the image of the national team. It will come with good results. It is praiseworthy that PZPN wants to use outstanding former players. Łukasz is at the beginning of the road and can start with a high “C” right away. It is a great privilege, but also a responsibility and unknown – admitted Krzynówek.
