Brazil draws with Colombia and qualifies in Group A of the South American sub-20

Brazil enrolled in the final hexagonal of the South American U-20 this Wednesday, after drawing (1-1) with the host Colombia on the fourth date of Group A.

About half an hour into the game, the captain of the coffee growers, Gustavo Puerta, surprised the favorites with a great mid-range goal that blew up a crowd that covered the stands of the Pascual Guerrero Stadium in Cali for the first time in the tournament.

But Brazil brought out the caste and equalized thanks to their own captain, Andrey, who silenced the stands with a header at the edge of halftime (43).

Chelsea’s central midfielder had already scored in the two previous games and takes a step forward as one of the stars of the tournament, which delivers four slots to the World Cup in the category that will start in May in Indonesia.

The Canarinha reached 7 points and matched the line of Paraguay, which had qualified for the final hexagonal on the previous date.

Colombia (5 points) had a clear option to hit the ball in the second half, but Ricardo Caraballo fumbled the ball and the hosts will have to define the last place in the group in a one-on-one against Argentina (3 points) on Friday.

The youth tournament also awards three places to the Pan American Games in Santiago-2023. (D)
