The situation in group B of the volleyball Champions League was extremely balanced. Before the last matchday, as many as three clubs had mathematical chances to advance from the first place. One of them was Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie, which played a rematch with the German Berlin Recycling Volleys. In the first match, the players from the capital of Germany won (3:1).

Wednesday was no better. Unfortunately, the Polish club had to recognize the decisive superiority of the German team. The players from Berlin defeated the players of Michał Winiarski as much as 3:0 (25:22, 25:17, 25:19). The beginning of the first set was quite even. The best player at the beginning of the clash was Dawid Konarski, but it did not translate into winning the first, as it turned out, the most balanced set.
A big blow for the team was also the injury of Uros Kovaceević, who felt pain in the back at 11:14 and was replaced by Patryk Łaba. The last two sets were the showpiece of the German team. The Poles definitely gave way to their rivals and it was the players from Berlin that left no illusions to the bronze medalists of Plus Liga.
This means that the volleyball players of Zawiercie fell beyond the first two places (10 points) in group B. The first position in their group was taken by the Turkish Halkbank Ankara (13 points), and the second place was taken by the conquerors of Zawiercie Berlin Recycling Volleys (11 points) and thanks to being the first third in the standings will also play in the 1/8 finals of the Champions League. Their rival will be another Polish team ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle. All thanks to the win of Cucine Lube Civitanova against Knack Roeselare (3:2).
