Osasuna beat Sevilla (2-1) and gets the ticket for the Cup semifinals

Osasuna qualified for the Copa del Rey semifinals after beat Sevilla 2-1 with extension included in El Sadar. The rojillos gave the victory to their fans and are already expecting a rival for the next tie.

The first half was even and had few scoring chances. At first Sevilla was better, but later Osasuna imposed his game. The rojillos created their first scoring chance in the 26th minute through a shot from Kike Barja that went wide, and three minutes later, Unai García headed high.

For ten minutes, between 60 and 70, Osasuna had to suffer, although the rojillos withstood the rival’s attacks. In addition, in minute 71, the team led by Jagoba Arrasate took the lead: Chimy Ávila scored the 1-0 after receiving the ball inside the area and beating Bono with a shot at the turn.

Sevilla went on the attack after conceding the goal. Osasuna did not go through excessive difficulties. Sergio Herrera saved a shot by Nianzou in the 82nd minute, and before reaching the 90th minute, Budimir was able to seal the match on two occasions: on the first, his shot was deflected by an opponent, while on the next play his shot from head went off just a bit.

Osasuna forgave and paid dearly in the discount, since Sevilla equalized in the 95th minute thanks to a goal by En-Nesyri (1-1). The Moroccan striker finished off a cross from Suso and managed to beat Sergio Herrera. Thus, the clash went to extra time.

The visiting team took possession of the ball at the start of extra time, they were in danger on the wings, but they were not able to create clear scoring chances. Osasuna suffered, put up with the rival with great defensive work, and scored the second goal in a counterattack; Abde received the ball, left Bde behind with a good dribble, and with a good shot he beat Bono to make it 2-1..

In the second part of extra time Osasuna was solid in defense. On the only occasion that Sevilla enjoyed, in the 110th minute, Sergio Herrera cleared a powerful shot from Jordán.
