According to the interlocutor of the TV channel, Kostomarov, who regained consciousness, began to talk. Also, the athlete’s lung damage decreased and edema subsided. It is noted that doctors continue treatment and inject him with sleeping pills to fully restore the body.
The fact that Kostomarov began to regain consciousness became known on January 24. Honored coach of the USSR Tatyana Tarasova said that the figure skater was disconnected from the blood oxygen saturation device (ECMO).
Kostomarov was hospitalized on 10 January. A 45-year-old athlete was diagnosed with pneumonia in combination with influenza B. In addition to the ECMO machine, he was connected to a ventilator.
