With Kane’s goal and historic mark, Tottenham beats Fulham and recovers in the English

At the close of the 21st round of the English Championship, Tottenham visited Fulham this Monday, at Craven Cottage, in London (ING), and won by 1 to 0. Harry Kane scored the only goal of the game and reached a historic mark. The top scorer reached 266 goals for Spurs and equaled Jimmy Greaves as the club’s all-time leading goalscorer.

Thus, the visitors recover in the competition and return to triumph after two consecutive defeats. With that, they reach 36 points, in fifth place – the Europa League classification zone -, and reduce the distance to the G4 to three.

On the other hand, the hosts suffer the second consecutive setback and lose the chance to get closer to their own rival this afternoon. The club is in seventh place, with 31 points added.

For the next round, therefore, Tottenham receives Manchester City in a classic that takes place on Sunday (5), at 1:30 pm (Brasília time), at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. In turn, Fulham visit Chelsea, on Friday, from 5 pm, at Stamford Bridge.

Before that, however, both teams turn their attention to the fourth round of the FA Cup. You Spurs face Preston, from the second division, next Saturday, at 3 pm, away from home. Fulham, on the other hand, plays at home against Sunderland, also from the lower division, a little earlier, from 12 noon.

Tottenham’s goal against Fulham

The first and only goal of the match came in the first half stoppage time. In the 46th minute, Son received it in the left half, turned and advanced with the ball. The Korean striker then played to Harry Kane on the penalty area line. The English scorer dominated with his back to the goal, left the mark and, inside the half moon, hit the left corner to become the greatest scorer in the history of Tottenham.

On the way back from the break, the number 10 of Spurs had a great chance to isolate himself in the club’s artillery. In the 13th minute of the second half, Kulusevski crossed from the middle and the ball reached Ben Davies, who headed it over for Kane to test from inside the small area. However, goalkeeper Leno was well positioned and made a great save, sending it to a corner.
