Last Thursday’s friendly was marked by the reunion of Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, who had not faced each other for two years, when they were still playing for Barcelona e Juventus, respectively. In the match, the Argentine scored once and the Portuguese scored two goals. Still, it was the French team that emerged victoriousby a score of 5 to 2, and lifted the friendly trophy.
For this Monday’s match, however, Paris Saint-Germain will not be able to count on Lionel Messi, who will be rested. Verratti, Kimpembe and Mukiele will also be absent, as they are injured. Neymar and Mbappé, on the other hand, were linked normally and can enter the field.
Paris Saint-Germain comes from a defeat in official matches. In their last match for the French Championship, the Parisians lost 1-0 against Rennes. With the defeat, the team led by Christophe Galtier saw the distance to vice-leader Lens drop to just three points.
Pays de Cassel has no division in the French league system. Before reaching the second round of the French Cup, the team went through three teams. Against two of them it was tied in regular time and won in the penalty shootout.
