Juventus punished in the case of financial fraud

Football club “Juventus” was deprived of 15 points of the championship of Italy

The Italian football club Juventus was punished in the case of financial fraud. It is reported by Sky Sport.

The team was deprived of 15 points in the Italian championship, which is why the team now ranks tenth in the standings with 22 points. The Court of the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) granted the request of the prosecutor, who demanded to punish the club in the case of fictitious capital gains. Other Italian clubs were involved in the case, but the FIGC court acquitted them.

On January 20, information appeared that the Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo was ready to sue Juventus. The reason was that the club allegedly owed the striker 19 million euros as part of an unofficial agreement concluded during the coronavirus pandemic.

In November 2022, President Andrea Agnelli and most of the Juventus leadership resigned. At the same time, they were accused of overestimating the transfer cost of players, as well as understating data on staff costs and hiding the true size of the salaries of football players.
