Three-time Olympic champion in figure skating, State Duma deputy Irina Rodnina compared football in Russia and in Europe. Her words are quoted by RB Sport.
“In Europe, football exudes beauty, the players train a lot. And Russian football players are not trying to attract people with their game, they have everything, they don’t care, ”Rodnina assessed the situation. She added that nothing interesting happens in Russian football, so no one is interested in it abroad.
On November 10, Rodnina lamented that domestic teams only know how to spend money and called for the closure of Russian football clubs. “If they have not learned how to earn money in 30 years, then something needs to be changed: management, or going bankrupt, or something else,” she was indignant.
