Newcastle announces Eddie Howe as new coach

Newcastle announced, on Monday, the hiring of coach Eddie Howe until the summer of 2024. The 43-year-old former player arrives at the club after leaving England’s Bournemouth, which led to the conquest of the Championship (2nd division of English football) in 2014/15.

“It’s a great honor to become head coach of a club of Newcastle United’s stature and history. It’s a very proud day for me and my family,” said Eddie.

“It’s a wonderful opportunity, but we also have a lot of work ahead of us and I’m looking forward to getting into training camp to start working with the players,” he added.

Howe started his coaching career in 2008. In addition to directing Bournemouth, he was also ahead of Burnley.

Newcastle United co-owner Amanda Staveley was pleased with the accepted invitation and said the entire board is pleased with the new commander.

“Apart from his achievements at Bournemouth, where he has had a transformative impact, he is a passionate and dynamic coach who has clear ideas on how to take this team and club forward.
