Pogacar, Alaphilippe and Roglic, main contenders for the Golden Bicycle

Slovenians Tadej Pogacar and Primoz Roglic, winners of the Tour de France and Vuelta a España respectively, and the French Julian Alaphlippe, double World Champion, are the main references in the group of 12 runners chosen for the Golden Bicycle 2021 which accredits the best cyclist of the season.

The Colombian also appears on the list of applicants. Egan Bernal, winner of the Giro d’Italia and the Ecuadorian Richard Carapaz, Olympic champion en route, and no runner from the Spanish peloton appears.

Magazine Bicycle Magazine, as it has been doing every year since 1992, it will award the Golden Bicycle to the most outstanding of a list that includes the great protagonists of the season that has just ended.

In the women’s section, the Dutch from Movistar has been included as the maximum favorite Annemiek Van Vleuten, number one in the world.
