Former Arsenal player Alex Scott has said she was threatened with death by a Russian taxi driver during the 2018 World Cup. It is reported by talkSPORT with reference to the ex-athlete’s autobiography.
The girl came to Russia as a BBC expert. One day, she was returning to the hotel after meeting with a friend and called a taxi through the Uber mobile application. “I’m not taking you home tonight. You will come with me. I kill girls like you, ”she recalls the words of the driver.

Scott told the man that she was due to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin the next day and threatened to punish her if anything happened to her. As proof of her words, she showed him photographs taken with the president during her visit to the Kremlin. The taxi driver brought her to the hotel and tried to kiss her.
Scott is a 2015 World Championship bronze medalist and 2009 European silver medalist with the England women’s team. She is also known for her performances for Birmingham City and Arsenal, with whom she won the Women’s Champions League in 2007.
The World Championship in Russia was held from June 14 to July 18, 2018 in 11 cities. On February 28 last year, the International Football Federation and the Union of European Football Associations announced the exclusion of Russian teams and clubs from international tournaments.
