Russian fighter, European and world champion Vladimir Mineev, who signed a contract with the Russian Armed Forces, is currently in Donetsk. This is reported by TASS with reference to the head of the organization AMC Fight Nights Kamil Gadzhiev.
Gadzhiev said that Mineev called him a week ago. The 32-year-old athlete said that he would soon arrive in Moscow and share the details of his service. “He said that in February and March he definitely cannot be counted on in terms of fighting in connection with military operations,” the sports functionary noted.
On the suspension of his career for the sake of participating in a special operation in Ukraine, Mineev announced in early December last year. The athlete, who previously served in the Airborne Forces, received the summons in September.
In the last fight, Mineev defeated the Brazilian Fernando Rodriguez. The five-round meeting was held according to the rules of kickboxing in Moscow and ended in the third round, the Russian knocked out the opponent.
