Russian head of judges “who did the nasty” got a new position in FIG

Russian Natalya Kuzmina, who, according to coach Irina Viner-Usmanova, did nasty things at the Olympics, became Honorary Vice President of the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG). This is reported on the website of the organization.

Similar positions were received by the Swede Margaret Sickens Alqvist and the German Horst Kunze. As specified in the FIG, in this way it was decided to encourage the Russian woman and her colleagues for many years of work for the benefit of gymnastics.

On November 6, it became known that Kuzmina would not be allowed to participate in the election of the new head of the FIG technical committee. The decision was made at the meeting of the disciplinary commission of the organization.

Viner-Usmanova withdrew the Russian woman’s candidacy from the elections in September. The head of the All-Russian Federation of Rhythmic Gymnastics stressed that Kuzmina did something nasty at the Tokyo Olympics. Israeli Lina Ashram won the individual all-around Games. She bypassed the Russian woman Dina Averina. The result caused a wide public outcry in Russia, the judges of the competition were accused of bias.
