Days before Dani Alves was arrested for alleged sexual assault in Barcelona, his wife, the model Joana Sanz, gave him a public endorsement, which he finished off on his social networks this Friday.
The player voluntarily went to a police station to answer for the alleged assault, sources from the Catalan regional police told AFP.
The process in the courts of the City of Catalan Justice, not only seeks the arrest of the accused, but also the statement of the victim, in this case a 23-year-old girl, who accused him of raping her in the bathroom of the Sutton nightclub, located in Barcelona.

The investigation not only includes the testimony of the female, but also the reconstruction of the case in which the images of what happened that night appear, which compromise the player, who denies the accusation.
Before the case went to court, Alves declared on Spanish television that he was innocent of what he was accused of and that he “never invaded other people’s spaces” in the place.
“I was there, in that place, with more people enjoying themselves, without invading the space of others. I’m very sorry, but I don’t know who that lady is. I have never invaded someone’s space without authorization”, declared Alves.
Faced with accusations of raping a woman, the soccer player’s wife, Joana Sanz, broke the silence and decided to come out in his defense, highlighting the good customs and values that her husband has, the newspaper Clarín published.
“I know who my husband is, I know how I met him, I know how respectful he is, because not even when he was getting to know me did he disrespect me,” he said in his defense.
The model dared to mention that there are women who “exceed themselves” and flirt with their husbands, so she hinted that it could be one of them.
“I have seen many times how women approach the booth, daring, to try something with my husband in my face. If they do it in my presence, I don’t want to imagine when I’m not there, ”she explained, giving an example of light behavior by some followers.
After these statements, Joana Sanz gave further evidence that she is on the footballer’s side and that she believes in his innocence.
This Friday, before Alves was called to testify and be detained, Sanz posted on his Instagram stories, a photo with his hands intertwined with his partner, and the phrase “togheter”, which in Spanish translates as “together”.
The couple’s intertwined hands translates into a forceful message, which envisions that she will be with her husband through thick and thin.
