“If she decided to go into pair skating, that’s her right. Either she is really preparing to perform in pair skating, which we have at a very high level, or she is preparing for the show, ”he said. Piseev noted that it would be good if the new duet increased competition and raised the level of pair skating.
On January 16, coach Elena Buyanova announced the termination of work with Kostornaya due to the athlete’s desire to switch to pair skating. She noted that the figure skater, who during her performance on the show tried to do paired elements with Georgy Kunitsa, would study with Sergei Roslyakov.
In July 2020, Kostornaya left the Eteri Tutberidze group and began training under the guidance of Evgeni Plushenko.
