Former coach of the Russian national team Hiddink said that Ukrainian players are weaker than Russian
Former head coach of the Russian national team Guus Hiddink compared the level of Russian and Ukrainian football players. His words are quoted by RB Sport.
“Ukrainian football players, by definition, are not stronger than Russian players, they are weaker,” the specialist said. He considered that at the moment Russian football players are almost not taken to European clubs because of what is happening in the world.
Earlier on January 16, the former head coach of the Russian national team Boris Ignatiev compared Russian football players with Ukrainian ones. According to the expert, players from Ukraine are more qualified.
Hiddink led the Russian national team from 2006 to 2010. Under him, the Russians won bronze medals at the 2008 European Championship. Then, under the leadership of the Dutchman, Russian football players beat the Netherlands national team in the 1/4 finals. In the semifinals, the Russian team lost to the future champions – the Spaniards.
