Tennis player Daniil Medvedev defeated the American Giron in the first round of the Australian Open
Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev obscenely insulted the audience during the match of the first round of the Australian Open. It is reported by Sports.ru.
The athlete reacted sharply to the fan’s attack from the podium of the court in Melbourne. He sent the viewer “** ***”, after which he received a warning from the judge. It is noted that the 26-year-old Russian was unhappy with the fact that the judge did not call the audience to silence during his submission.
Medvedev defeated American Marcos Giron in the first round of the tournament. The meeting lasted an hour and a half and ended with the score 6:0, 6:1, 6:2.
The Russians continue to play at the tournaments of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) and the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) in a neutral status, but were not allowed to participate in Wimbledon 2022 by decision of the British authorities. Also, Russians are forbidden to play in tournaments under the auspices of the International Tennis Federation (ITF).
