The game
United’s first chance came in the 16th minute, when Luke Shaw received a cross from Wan-Bissaka and put Guaita in danger. Shortly after, the number 23 again tried with his head, hitting the crossbar.
Already in the final stretch of the first half, Palace almost opened the scoring. Edouard shot from outside the area and De Gea made a great save.
Then the visitors took the lead. After Eriksen’s good move, Bruno Fernandes received it in the area and sent Guaita in the right corner.
On the way back to the break, Crystal Palace went after the tie, bothering United, however, they didn’t take much danger. Afterwards, Marc Guehi headed and De Gea forced to work hard to avoid the goal.
Palece, finally, left everything the same in the first minute of added time. Olise took a direct free-kick and saw the ball die in the back of De Gea’s net after hitting the crossbar.
