The time he was at Barcelona SC was short, but it was enough to remain in the history of the Guayaquil club. Former goalkeeper Pablo Ariel Santillo, has a record that he earned for his remarkable performances.

Santillo arrived in the bullfighting team in mid-2008, at the request of the then coach Reinaldo Merlo, his stay lasted only until mid-2009, however, during that period he managed to accumulate a total of 796 minutes with a clean arc, a mark that gave him a space in the canary memory.

The goalkeeper is currently 42 years old, and retired in 2018 at Arsenal de Sarandí in his country and now works in a barbershop that he owns.

In an interview granted to telenine from Argentina, in April 2019, Santillo revealed that after soccer, his other passion is barbershop.

“This is a dream for me, in the concentrations, I began to cut the hair, to peel the boys in the preseason and fix the cuts,” said the exporter.

“I started peeling in Banfield, when I went to Defense and Justice in 2015 I had the machines and a colleague told me:” Crazy you cut my hair “and I told him that if there was no problem I would cut his hair,” Santillo added.

In the note, the place where he shows the shirts he wore during his sports career is shown, it also has a space so that his clients can access video games while they wait for their turn.

“I named it Club 22 because I always played with that number,” Santillo proudly stated that he also has other people employed at his store.

In a past interview, Santillo revealed that his transfer to Barcelona SC in 2008 was about to fall through due to the results of the medical check-ups.

The Argentine arrived from Banfield dragging a torn ligament and a fissure in his left foot that almost made his transfer to the club difficult. He also confessed that the injuries led him to play “infiltrator” in 16 matches of the Ecuadorian championship. (D)
