Honored coach of the USSR Tatyana Tarasova responded to the call of the American figure skater Jessica Kalalang, who escaped disqualification for the use of illegal drugs, to punish the Russian Kamila Valieva. The words of the specialist are quoted by RIA Novosti.
Tarasova called the American’s criticism of Valieva strange. “It would be better for her to refrain from such statements so as not to once again remind the whole world that doping was discovered in her,” the coach said.
Earlier, Kalalang called unfair the decision of the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) to justify Valieva. “Doping is doping, it should automatically be equated with punishment,” the athlete added.
On January 13, RUSADA informed the World Anti-Doping Agency that Valieva was not at fault for the anti-doping rule violation. At the same time, the figure skater was deprived of the gold of the Russian Championship-2022.
