TASS: Russian national football team plans to play five friendly matches in 2023
The Russian national football team in 2023 expects to play five friendly matches. The plans of the national team were revealed by TASS.
According to the source, the dates for these meetings have been determined at the moment: from March 25 to 28, from June 17 to 20, from August 31 to September 8, from October 15 to 18 and from November 19 to 22. Nothing has been reported about the alleged rivals of Valery Karpin’s team.
Last year, the Russians played three friendly matches. The national team defeated Kyrgyzstan (2:1), and also tied with Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. Both meetings ended with the score 0:0.
On February 28, 2022, FIFA and UEFA excluded Russian teams and clubs from international tournaments. The teams do not play in European competitions, and the Russian team has lost the opportunity to compete for reaching the finals of the 2022 World Cup.
