Khabib Nurmagomedov said he wants to raise an Olympic champion in freestyle wrestling
Former champion of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Khabib Nurmagomedov spoke about the goal in life. His words are quoted by the UDAR TV channel on VKontakte.
Nurmagomedov said that he wants to raise an Olympic champion in freestyle wrestling in his gym. “But that’s in the future. I understand that this is not the goal of 2024 and not 2028. I create all the conditions for this, ”he said and added that it would not be easy.
On January 7, it became known about Nurmagomedov’s departure from the mixed martial arts (MMA) industry. It was clarified that he would not train and be present with the team at the training camp in order to spend more time with his family.
Nurmagomedov defended his UFC lightweight title three times before retiring. The athlete won 29 victories in 29 professional fights under the rules of MMA. The Russian held his last fight in October 2020, being stronger than the American Justin Gaethje.
