The Italian Alberto Bettiol (EF Education) won the time trial prologue held in Adelaide with a 5.5 kilometer route with a time of 6:19 minutes and put on the first race leader’s jersey.

Bettiol he led the American by 8 seconds Magnus Sheffield (Ineos) and in 10 to the Danish Julius Johansen (Intermarché).

The rain had a special role during the test, benefiting the runners who started first, in case of Bettioland those who did it in the last places because it stopped raining and the road almost dried up.

The first 150-kilometre stage with a start and a finish in Tanunda is, in principle, intended for sprinters and a massive final sprint.
