Condition of Olympic champion Roman Kostomarov remains unchanged
The condition of the 2006 Olympic champion in ice dancing Roman Kostomarov remains unchanged. This became known to TASS.
According to the agency, the 45-year-old athlete is not showing any improvement. The information was confirmed by a source familiar with the situation.
Kostomarov was hospitalized on 10 January. He is in intensive care under medical sedation. He was diagnosed with left-sided pneumonia in combination with influenza B. The athlete is connected to a ventilator, as well as to an apparatus for saturating the blood with oxygen.
Kostomarov became the Olympic champion in tandem with Tatyana Navka. The couple also won the World Championship, three times became the champion of Europe and the final of the Grand Prix series of the International Skating Union. In 2006, the duo ended their career. After leaving the sport, Kostomarov participated in the Ice Age television project and ice performances.
