The VFLA called the suspension of the athlete Litvinov, who announced doping, fair
Irina Privalova, First Vice President of the All-Russian Athletics Federation (VFLA), commented on the suspension of Russian hammer thrower Sergei Litvinov, who admitted to doping. Her words are quoted by Sport-Express.
“If a person does not slander himself, then what is unfair in punishment? He himself says that he did. He is an adult. Nobody twisted his hand and didn’t open his mouth, ”she said.

Privalova noted that the VFLA did not know all the circumstances of the case and the reasons why the athlete announced that he was taking illegal drugs after 11 years. “For the same European Championship, a notification could now come, and he went to be recognized, but these are just versions,” the vice president noted.
Earlier on January 12, Litvinov admitted to using turinabol and oxandrolone in 2012. The athlete was disqualified for two years and deprived of the awards won in competitions from July 14, 2012 to February 25, 2016, including the bronze of the European Championship 2014.
In addition to personal bronze, Litvinov won gold and silver of the 2014 European Team Championship as part of the Russian team. In addition, he is the champion of Russia and Germany. The athlete was unable to qualify for the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
