Turkish football club Galatasaray demanded a revision of the results of the fourth round of the Europa League against Moscow’s Lokomotiv. This was reported on the club’s website.
Galatasaray protested against the decision of the Swiss referee Sandro Scherer. He showed two yellow cards to the defender of the “railroad” Dmitry Zhivoglyadov, but did not send him off the field. Representatives of the Turkish club demanded a replay of the match or a technical defeat for Lokomotiv.
The incident took place at the end of the meeting. First, the referee showed Zhivoglyadov a yellow card for a foul in the center of the field. The Russian received another card during a scuffle between the teams. At the same time, only the first violation was noted in the UEFA protocol.
The match took place in Istanbul on November 6 and ended with a score of 1: 1. Lokomotiv closes the quartet E standings with two points.
