Carlo Ancelotti, Real Madrid coach and his discomfort at losing the Spanish Super Cup: “Mistakes decide the game”

The Real Madrid coach, Carlo Ancelotti, was convinced this Sunday after losing the Spanish Super Cup against Barcelona 3-1, that his team’s mistakes decided the final.

“What decides the game are the mistakes we have made, we have not been successful in getting the ball out,” Ancelotti said at a press conference, assuring that “it was a bad game for everyone.”

“The players are the ones who have to realize that these errors are quite easy to avoid,” he said.

“The team has not been very intense, not very successful, 25 losses in the first half, we have lost many duels… It has been an incomplete game in all facets,” insisted the Merengue coach.

Ancelotti reiterated that “in the defensive aspect we have to improve”, before once again emphasizing the state of the team after the World Cup.

“The team’s moment is not good, but we have to hold on because this team has the quality to come back and be competitive,” he said.

“It is not a critical moment, it is a complicated moment, difficult as it usually happens in a season. This is a difficult moment that we have to fix soon with the usual commitment”, Ancelotti stated.

“We have to raise our heads soon, think carefully about what we have to do and return to being competitive and forceful, improving in all aspects, especially defensively,” insisted Ancelotti, before concluding that “I have no doubt that Madrid will return”. (D)
