Olympic champion in figure skating Roman Kostomarov was in intensive care with pneumonia

The 2006 Olympic champion in ice dancing Roman Kostomarov was in intensive care. This is reported by the Telegram channel Mash.

According to the publication, the 45-year-old former figure skater was diagnosed with pneumonia. He was taken to a Moscow clinic on the night of January 10th. In the morning, Kostomarov’s condition worsened, doctors assess him as extremely serious. It is specified that the man was connected to a ventilator.

In addition to the Olympic Games, together with Tatyana Navka, the athlete won the World Championship twice, three times became the champion of Europe and the final of the Grand Prix series of the International Skating Union. In 2006, the duo ended their career.

After leaving the sport, Kostomarov participated in the Ice Age television project and ice performances. He also performed several film roles.
