Russian mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Alexander Emelianenko appreciated the decision of former UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov to leave the industry. His words are quoted by Match TV.
“Completely leaving the sport and focusing on the family is a noble cause. But, if he comes back to make a beautiful 30:0 rating, it would be one of the greatest events in the sport, ”said the athlete. In his opinion, Nurmagomedov will be next to martial arts, as he received world fame here.
The departure of Nurmagomedov from MMA became known on January 7. It was clarified that he would not train and be present with the team at the training camp.
Nurmagomedov defended the champion title three times, after which he retired. The athlete won 29 victories in 29 professional fights under the rules of MMA. The Russian held his last fight in October 2020, being stronger than the American Justin Gaethje.
