When Flamengo was champion of the Copa Libertadores 2022, its players made it clear that they will not settle for just that title.
The victory in the final against Athletico Paranaense was a sample of what they want to show in the Club World Cup that will be played between February 1 and 11 in Morocco.
For that tournament, Flamengo hopes to win its first world title and match other Brazilian clubs such as Corinthians, Sao Paulo and Internacional de Porto Alegre, so far the only Brazilians who have been able to do so.
The Club World Cup is held again a year after Chelsea was crowned champion against Palmeiras of Brazil.
The Covid 19 pandemic forced the move to a calendar adjusted by FIFA, which also had to do with the date on which the Qatar 2022 World Cup was played.
After waiting for several days to find out the draw, it released its results this Friday, the day on which the fixture and the matches that each confederation champion must play were announced.
