Medvedev for the first time since 2019 lost the status of the first racket of Russia

Andrey Rublev surpassed Daniil Medvedev in the ATP rankings and became the first racket of Russia

Russian Andrey Rublev took sixth place in the ranking of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP). This was reported on the website of the organization.

Rublev moved up two positions and overtook compatriot Daniil Medvedev. Thus, the 25-year-old athlete became the first racket of Russia.

Medvedev, 26, has dropped one spot to eighth. He lost the status of the first racket of the country for the first time since August 2019.

In total, the top 100 tennis players on the planet include five Russians. Karen Khachanov took 20th place, Aslan Karatsev moved up to 52nd place, and Roman Safiullin dropped to 98th position.

In 2022, Medvedev led the ATP rating for 16 weeks with a break. He set a record among Russian athletes for this indicator.
