Swedish skier Karlsson collapses after finishing Tour de Ski uphill
Swedish skier Frida Karlsson collapsed after finishing a 10km uphill race at the 2023 Tour de Ski. It is reported by SVT Sport.
The athlete took 15th place in the race, fell on the snow and was able to leave the stadium only on a stretcher. Later it became known that Karlsson came to her senses and is in a hotel where she spoke with a doctor and her physiotherapist.
The uphill race was the final race of the Tour de Ski, with Karlsson winning the overall standings. The athlete missed the award ceremony, but her condition does not cause concern among doctors. The Swede became the world champion in the relay, as well as the bronze medalist of the Olympics in the same type of program.
On March 1, the Norwegian Ski Federation suspended the Russians from competitions held in the country. Later, the International Ski Federation (FIS) extended the ban to all competitions under the auspices of the organization.
