French skier Muffat-Jandet hospitalized after fall on slopes
French skier Victor Muffat-Jandet was hospitalized after falling on the slopes. Reported by L’Équipe.
The incident occurred during the giant slalom competition at the World Cup in Adelboden, Switzerland. The athlete caught the skis on the gate while passing the distance, fell and crashed into the protective net. For about 15 minutes, doctors assisted him on the spot, then Muffat-Jendet was taken by helicopter to the hospital. The Frenchman suffered a head injury, as well as several cuts on his hands and face. It is clarified that now his life is not in danger.
Muffat-Jandet is the 2018 Olympic bronze medalist. He also has one gold, five silver and five bronze medals at the World Cup stages.
Russian athletes do not take part in the tournament. On March 1, the Norwegian Ski Federation suspended the Russians from competitions held in the country. Later, the International Ski Federation (FIS) extended the ban to all competitions under the auspices of the organization. July 5 FIS extended the suspension of the Russian team.
