Doctor says Hamlin, who survived NFL game cardiac arrest, can communicate

Doctor Tim Pritts described the condition of the Buffalo Bills player Damar Hamlin, who survived a cardiac arrest during the National Football League (NFL) game with the Cincinnati Bengals. His words are quoted by Sky Sports.

“The situation was such that we allowed him to wake up. He could follow commands and even asked who won the match. We answered: “You won. It was a victory in the match of life,” the doctor said. He emphasized that the 24-year-old American football player communicated in writing, as he cannot yet speak due to a breathing tube.

On January 3, Hamlin fell to the pitch after colliding with opposing player Tee Higgins and suffered cardiac arrest. After that, doctors appeared on the field to help him, who performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation using a defibrillator.

The match between the teams was not completed. The game has been postponed, a new date will be set later.
