On November 6, in the final of the tournament held in Dubai (UAE), the Russians beat Iran with a score of 3: 2. All three goals in the Russian national team were scored by Boris Nikonorov.
The Russian national team also won all previous matches at the Intercontinental Cup, which started on November 2. In the group, the Russians outplayed Japan, Paraguay and Iran, and in the semifinals they beat Portugal. In total, eight teams took part in the tournament.
Russia won the Intercontinental Cup for the fourth time in its history. The last time the Russian team won was in 2015, when Tahiti was beaten 5: 2 in the final. The Russian national team is the most titled team of this tournament.
