Former UFC fighter Phil Baroni arrested on suspicion of killing a girl
Former American mixed martial artist (MMA) Phil Baroni, who competed in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), has been arrested in Mexico. Tribuna de la Bahia reports.
The 46-year-old athlete was arrested on suspicion of killing his girlfriend. According to the source, the woman was found dead in the hotel after the athlete, having learned about the betrayal, beat her. Arriving at the scene of the crime, the police found the deceased in blood with multiple bruises and abrasions.
It is noted that Baroni was in a state of alcoholic and drug intoxication. He is currently awaiting a court decision.
In total, Baroni spent 35 fights in MMA, in which he won 16 victories and suffered 19 defeats. The American was a UFC fighter from 2001 to 2005. He has also performed for PRIDE, Bellator, Strikeforce, ONE FC and other promotions. Baroni retired in 2019.
