Ukrainian athlete Saladuha criticized UEFA’s decision to hold the tournament in Russia
Former Ukrainian athlete Olga Saladukha appreciated the information about the holding of an international children’s football tournament in Volgograd under the auspices of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA). Her words are given on the Kyiv FM YouTube channel.
The athlete criticized the UEFA decision and said that the tournament should not be held in Russia. “Now we need to raise this whole story through the media,” she stressed.
On December 23, it became known that UEFA will hold a tournament for youth teams in Russia in May 2023. It is noted that agreements on this were reached with the union a few months ago.
On February 28, UEFA excluded Russian teams and clubs from international tournaments. Teams do not play in European competitions and other competitions under the auspices of the organization.
Saladuha is a world champion and a three-time European champion in the triple jump. At the London Olympics, she won bronze in this discipline.
