Figure skater Evgenia Medvedeva explained the end of her career with a desire to take care of her health
Two-time world figure skating champion Evgenia Medvedeva explained why she decided to end her career. Her words are quoted by Match TV.
“I have chosen my path. Won almost everything I wanted to win. I objectively looked at myself from the outside – assessed whether I can or can not in terms of physical capabilities, ”said the skater. Medvedeva noted that now she wants to take care of her health and realize herself more creatively.
Earlier, Medvedeva said that she had no plans to return to tournaments. “I continue to skate, jump, but there are no plans to enter tournaments. I please the audience in a different way – I perform in shows and in performances, I conduct master classes, ”the athlete shared, adding that she could continue performing if she wanted to.
Medvedeva is a two-time world and European champion. At the Olympic Games in Pyeongchang, the figure skater won two silver medals – in team competitions and in the individual competition. In 2021, she announced that she had effectively retired.
