The reactions to the hiring of Cristiano Ronaldo with the Al Nassr club have not only occurred in the sports field.
Other political and even cultural sectors have also established a position when it comes to the historic signing of what is considered the best striker in the world by a team that plays in a little-known league with that of Saudi Arabia.
One of the international organizations to criticize the arrival of the Portuguese was Amnesty International (AI), which valued, this Wednesday, in a statement the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo by the Saudi club Al Nassr and pointed out that the footballer “must draw attention on Human Rights issues” and not allow Saudi Arabia to use “its fame and status to clean up its image”.
Amnesty International urges Cristiano Ronaldo to denounce alleged human rights violations in Saudi Arabia
The international organization has maintained a position of constant denunciation of alleged violations of human rights, for this reason, it took the liberty of suggesting that the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo could be a strategy to “launder the image” of that nation.
AI researcher in the Middle East, Dana Ahmed, noted in the statement that “the hiring of Cristiano Ronaldo fits into a broader pattern of sports laundering in Saudi Arabia,” the Diario Marca also reported.

“Ronaldo should use his considerable public platform to draw attention to human rights problems in the country,” says Ahmed, according to the EFE news agency.
From the NGO, they stressed that “Saudi Arabia regularly executes people for crimes that include murder, rape and drug trafficking” and noted that “on a single day last year, 81 people were executed, many of whom were tried in trials manifestly unfair.”
