Buffalo Bills player Damar Hamlin is still hospitalized in critical condition after the cardiac episode he suffered Monday night in the middle of an NFL game.
Hamlin had a hard crash that caused him to collapse after a few seconds.
“Damar Hamlin spent the night in the intensive care unit and remains there in critical condition at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. We are grateful for the overwhelming support we have received thus far,” revealed his team.

The player’s fall shocked players from both teams who gathered around their teammate, some kneeling in prayer, others crying.
Hamlin was receiving oxygen when he was taken by ambulance to the hospital accompanied by his family, who were at the stadium watching the game.
Several doctors explained the various factors that could have contributed to Hamlin’s episode. Dr. Hari Tandri, director of the cardiac arrhythmia program at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee, said in nbc that when a healthy heart is struck forcefully at a specific time it can launch into an abnormal and potentially normal rhythm.
While Dr. William Zoghbi, Chairman of the Cardiology Department. at the Houston Methodist DeBakey Heart and Vascular Center, said in Houston Chronicle that the blow may have caused ventricular fibrillation, which causes the interruption of blood flow to the brain and other organs.
The NFL decided to postpone the game indefinitely and “has not yet made a decision on whether the game will resume,” the league said in a statement, ruling out that the game will be completed this week.
The body is facing growing concerns about concussions to which players are exposed. The strict protocol was further tightened last October with the entry into force of the ban on a player returning to a match if motor instability is detected. (YO)
