Esports retirement home. The band focused solely on the veterans of the scene

The arms race ahead of the next season of the professional League of Legends scene is in full swing. It is no different in the case of the North American Dignitas, which has opted for numerous changes in its starting five. During the selection of players, their experience was apparently the focus, after all, on Summoner’s Rift we will see many veterans.

Dignitas rebuilds the squad

Recently, through foreign esports editorial offices, Blix.GG and Dotesports, we learned more about Dignitas’ intentions in connection with the upcoming 2023 season in League of Legends. The team bet on extensive changes, but during the selection of players they are not going to focus on young talents.

Instead, in Dignitas we will see players who can be boldly called esports veterans. According to early reports, mid laner Jensen and jungler Santorin are expected to join the team, while the latest information mentions the addition of support Ignar and top lane player Armut to the starting five.

America’s old pattern repeated

For many years, the problem of North America as a League of Legends region that is weaker than its main competitor – Europe, has been discussed. Many reasons were given, but a few of them were the constant exploitation of experienced players, and at the same time neglecting the development of young, rising stars. Players imported from other regions were also often bet on.

Dignitas touches on all the sub-points mentioned. The average age of players new to the organization is almost 25 years old. Although for traditional disputes it is the moment to achieve the best results, in the case of esports it is often the time of the end of a career. In addition, each of them originally comes from a country other than the United States and Canada. The described transfers are two Europeans, one Korean and a Turk.

The team’s shooter remains unknown. It is possible that Trevor “Spawn” Kerr-Taylor will remain in his position. He is a 24-year-old who has been with the main roster of the organization for only a few years.
