Al Sadd announces termination with Xavi and confirms negotiation with Barcelona

Al Sadd, from Qatar, announced, on Friday, the contract termination with coach Xavi Hernández. Through social networks, the club informed that it accepted to release the Spanish language after the Barcelona pay the termination fine.

“Xavi informed us a few days ago about his desire to go to Barcelona at this specific time, due to the critical phase his hometown club is going through, and we understand that and decided not to get in his way,” the team informed.

“We agreed to cooperate with Barcelona in the future. Xavi is an important part of Al-Sadd’s story and we wish him every success,” he added.

The Spanish coach returns to the team where he was successful as a player. The midfielder defended Barça’s professional team between 1998 and 2015. During this period, he collected several trophies, including four Champions League, two Club World Cups and eight Spanish Championships.

Xavi left the club after winning the triple crown and now returns in a much more complicated situation. You culés go through a financial crisis and do not live a great phase within the four lines. The defeat by Rayo Vallecano, on October 27th, sanctified the resignation of coach Ronald Koeman.

Currently, Barça is ninth in the Spanish Championship and still fights for a classification in the round of 16 of the Champions.

Barcelona’s next match will be against Celta de Vigo, this Saturday, for the 13th round of La Liga. The Catalan team will be led by interim coach Sergi Barjuan.
